4 Ring Ouzels

Ring Ouzel and Whinchat



The Day started with a call from John Watson to tell me there were 2 Male Whinchat at Ringstone by the Green pipe up from the inflow. So of i set and they had moved just down the the fields.


On The reservoir there was an Oystercatcher and a female Goosander. I set of to whiteholme reservoir where i had 2 Common Sandpiper, Redshank, Golden plover, Curlew ,15 Wheatear and 9 Twite. I Got back to Ringstone at 11:45 checked the feeding station 4 Linnets and 3 Goldfinch. And then decided to go up to the quarry for a look round. 15 Linnets 5 Willow Warblers, Sparrow Hawk and a call from GD to tell me he had 3 Ring Ouzels in fields over from where the Whinchat were. I Shot down the bank to meet up with him and there they were.

2 Dunlin


2 Dunlin at 17:30 today on the north shore. Also Mallard with two very young chicks.

Wigeon



9 Wigeon on reservoir today , 5 Males, 4 Females. Also a pair of Teal 5 Mallard and a Grey Heron

. 15 Linnets at feeding station near hide.

Linnets Return to Ringstone


The Last few weeks have been quite with the Golden Plover moving off and most of the Gulls gone to breeding grounds, a pair of Goldeneye last week with a few Curlew flying over and one setteling for a few days. A Redshank on the 27 March. 6 Linnets today on Feeding station with Blue Tits ,Gt Tits, 4 Reed Bunting, 8 Goldfinch and numerous Greenfinch. Plenty of Meadow Pipits around and up to 5 Skylark in North Field. 15 Lapwing on North Shore were joined by a noisy Oystercatcher this morning it stayed for a bath and then flew West calling all the time.
2 Little Owl in East Field.
8 Mallard on Reservoir with 1 pair of Teal
