Redstart, Chiffchaff, Knot
08:00> 12:35, 14 Degrees, light west wind.
Had reports from John W @ 7:40 that stonechat were showing well 200 meters down from water works house.
Got to where I thought they would be but nothing doing . Then got a flash of red tail feather in the old Paddock about 150 meters from the road. My first Redstart at ringstone , had it for about 30 seconds , ran back to car for camera . It had moved to elderberry so i quickly took 3 shots . The was the last i saw of it, i didn't see it fly .
Then came the sound of Stonechats ,2 of of them on the drystone walls leading down to Greenlane. A lot of birds moving mainly Meadow Pipits up to 40 in fields and on walls. I walked back down to the House and in the last big bush before Cliffords 2 Chiffchaff Calling and flitting around. Then 4 Willow Warblers along the inflow flying up towards the quarry.
I Went down to the Hide but only 2 snipe and about 60 BackHeaded Gulls on the reservoir.
Went to get a coffee and sat at the feeding station. 8 Lapwing flew in with 2 Dunlin and another wader i couldn't get, it split from the others and went further up towards the hide. I Set my scope up and just got about a minute of a Knot in view before it went into west pool.
A very good day at Ringstone edge
